Portugal’s Prime Minister experiences the wiiGO and highlights the importance of the investment in innovation
“Within the scope of Industry 4.0 and the creation of the Collaborative Labs, Portugal’s Prime Minister António Costa visited CEiiA for the signature of the consortium for the development of the Project BE, which Follow Inspiration also integrates as a development partner, reflecting not only the commitment but also the company’s positioning in the development of autonomous solutions for smart mobility.
Project BE consists of the first electric and autonomous vehicle entirely produced in Portugal – a vehicle that will be able to interact with the driver and the urban environment.
António Costa highlighted the need to eliminate both legal and regulatory barriers, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for technological experimentation. The Prime Minister experienced himself the wiiGO, our autonomous and self-driven shopping cart, stating that the increasing investment in innovation is crucial for Portugal.
Manuel Heitor, Minister of Science, technology and Higher Education, together with Manuel Caldeira Cabral, Ministry of Economy, emphasized the importance of the interaction between universities, technological centers and industry to add value and promote the Portuguese economy.”
